Jesus Every Day

Acts 17:24-26

Today we often find people who are somewhat embarrassed to speak about things as they really are. One president famously called his sin a “mistake.” Sometimes we hear that a person has told “a little white lie.” We joke about the fisherman who brags about the “big one that got away.” Many similar “shades of the truth” seem to be given, I suppose, to keep another one from being hurt. However, it is extremely important that we tell the truth at all times about all things. Please read the following passage.

The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, Acts 17:24-26 (ESV)

Here we are boldly told God is the creator. Evolution is not a fact, just a sad theory. We find out that God does not need us. He graciously will receive us if we come by way of the death of His Son, Jesus Christ. He made humanity from the first couple, Adam and Eve. He decides ahead of time how humanity is dispersed. None of us knows why Eskimos live in the icy north, nor why dark-skinned people predominate the continent of Africa. God somehow predetermined and boldly acted to accomplish these things.

So we should listen and respond positively to the verse. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His uniquely born Son, so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.”

May we happily live boldly by the grace of God.
