Workers recently reinforced a metal tower located behind Irmo High School preparing it for fiber optics being installed by T-Mobile to improve customer service. The tower is more than 150 feet tall and was originally used by SCETV. The tower has been around since 1974 and was rumored to be leased by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
