Small Businesses Celebrated at Luncheon

The Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber held a luncheon in honor of small businesses Thursday, May 8 celebrating Small Business Month at the Chamber House on 12th Street in Cayce.

Tim James, CEO/President of the Greater CWC Chamber of Commerce, handed out awards to small businesses which included the Small Business of the Quarter Award going to Whetzel’s Automotive for all that they do within the community. The Chamber Champion Award was given to BuWa digital and the Community Champion Award went to Joni Coleman with Lexington 2 Innovation Center.  Retired Lexington County Council member Debbie Summers received an honorary lifetime membership to the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. It was the first presented in over 20 years.

Mayor Team Miles of West Columbia, Mayor Elise Partin of Cayce and Mayor Cindy Campbell of South Congaree were guest speakers. Former Lexington County Council member Debbie Summers was presented with an honorary lifetime membership to the chamber board of directors which has not been awarded in 20 years.

The luncheon was presented by Dominion Energy and sponsored by Pyramid Contracting and BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina.
