After a rough patch in non-region play, Brookland-Cayce has righted its ship entering the Region 5-3A schedule.
The Bearcats opened up region play with a 56-13 rout of Orangeburg-Wilkinson. Senior running back De’Shaun Washington continued his dominant play with 188 rushing yards and four touchdowns.
Quarterback/wide receiver Will Young had a touchdown catch and also returned a kick for a touchdown in the Bearcats’ second straight victory.
Up next for Brookland-Cayce (4-2, 1-0) is a trip to Hopkins to face Lower Richland (1-6, 0-1). The Diamond-Hornets fell 35-7 to Gilbert for their fifth straight loss and are 0-5 all-time against the Bearcats.
