After two straight losses, Brookland-Cayce could use some positive news.
It came Sunday with the selection of quarterback Will Young to the South Carolina Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas roster. The game is scheduled for Dec. 16 at Viking Stadium on the campus of Spartanburg High School.
Young was selected as a wide receiver by South Carolina head coach Wayne Farmer of Calhoun County.
The past two seasons has seen Young play at wide receiver, running back, defensive back and wide receiver for the Bearcats (2-2).
Brookland-Cayce returns to action Friday at home against Class 2A fifth-ranked Hampton County (5-0).
