If you’re seeking a career in public service, Richland County’s Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC) is offering job opportunities. The detention center is hosting a job fair on Friday, October 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 201 John Mark Dial Drive, Columbia.
Attendees will have the chance to meet ASGDC staff, tour the facility, and learn about available roles, including:
- Detention Officer: Ensures the safety of staff and inmates, supervises inmate activities, and performs related corrections work.
- Summary Court Law Clerk: Supports Court Administration with clerical duties, case file maintenance, and courtroom assistance.
New hires are eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus and an additional $5,000 after one year of service. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and bring their resume, high school diploma or GED, and S.C. driver’s license. Pre-apply online via the County’s website or in person at the event.
