CAYCE, SOUTH CAROLINA — State Representative Russell Ott has earned the endorsement of local mayors in his campaign for State Senate.
West Columbia Mayor Tem Miles announced his endorsement of Rep. Ott, citing his years of experience in working across the aisle to get results.
“I’ve known Russell for 20 years. He is a good man, he has been a great state representative, and he will be a great state senator. Pick the person for the job, not the party – he has the experience needed to serve the people of Lexington County. He has earned my vote,” said Mayor Miles.
Mayor Tem Miles (West Columbia) joins Mayor Elise Partin (Cayce), Mayor Viola McDaniel (Swansea), Mayor Helen Carson-Peterson (St. Matthews), and Mayor Daniel Davis (Pine Ridge) who are supporting Ott because of his record in the legislature and his commitment to work with local governments to improve the quality of life for residents.
South Carolina Senate District 26 includes parts of Lexington, Richland, and Calhoun counties. District 26 is currently represented by Senator Nikki Setzler (D-Lexington), who is retiring after 47 years of service.
