Police hold memorial service Friday

South Carolina’s Fraternal Order of the Police will hold a memorial service November 8 at 6 pm at the Law Enforcement Monument on the State House grounds near the Assembly Street side.

The service celebrates and honors the lives of fallen officers from across the state. 

This year the lives of five officers who died during 2018 will be celebrated. The key note speaker is Kassy Alia Ray, CEO of Serve & Connect and Police Widow of Officer Greg Alia, Forrest Acres PD who died September 30, 2015.  The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office Rifle Drill Team will Render Honor with a program Tears Folded Inside.

The Fraternal Order of the Police is dedicated to the advancement and protection of law enforcement officers, the promotion of officer benefits, and the fostering of enforcement of law and order. It is the world’s largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, with more than 349,000 members in more than 2,200 lodges. It is committed to improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those they serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement, and employee representation.
