The 2019 High School Football Season got underway August 16 night at Gilbert High School, with the 2019 Lexington County Football Sportsarama.

The opening contest quickly turned into the Marvin Gantt showcase. Batesburg-Leesville also got a touchdown run from Ahma-Dre Leaphart and back-to-back interception returns for touchdowns in dominating the Cougars.

Riley Myers rushed for two scores, Uriah West had a rushing touchdown and Kevin Culcleasure returned a fumble for a touchdown to lead the Gators.
