River Bluff High School and Lexington School District One are proud to announce that the treble ensemble, Bel Canto, has been chosen to perform as a featured choir at the Southern Division Conference of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) in February 2024. This prestigious honor is a testament to the exceptional musical talent and dedication of the choir members and the outstanding choral program at River Bluff High School.
Being selected as a featured choir at the ACDA Southern Division Conference is a remarkable achievement, equivalent to winning a gold medal at the “Choir Olympics,” and featured choirs are set as the standard for exemplary vocal ensembles. Our choir is the first from our district to ever perform at this esteemed event. The audition process involved submitting recordings from the past three years, demonstrating our program’s consistently high musical caliber. An audition panel carefully evaluated recordings from all the states in our division, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. River Bluff’s Bel Canto stood out among the entries from these strong choral states, making us the sole choir from South Carolina to be chosen.
We sincerely hope that Lexington School District One and our community will be represented in the audience as our talented students grace the stage for this momentous event, which will undoubtedly be a highlight in each of these girls’ musical journeys.
