Cayce Fire Department Welcomes New Fire Engine with Traditional Washdown Ceremony

CAYCE – The City of Cayce and the Cayce Fire Department celebrated the arrival of their newest fire engine with a traditional washdown and push-in ceremony on Thursday, June 26.

The new truck, officially designated Engine 511, is a Pierce Enforcer model designed to meet the growing needs of the department and the community. The ceremony included remarks from city officials and Fire Chief Steven Bullard, as well as a hands-on moment as attending firefighters and leaders pushed the vehicle into its bay—a time-honored fire service tradition.

“Engine 511 will help us better serve Cayce,” said Chief Bullard. “It brings improved water capacity, more space for firefighters, and a much-needed upgraded cooling system to keep our crews safe and comfortable.”

This is the first new fire engine purchased by the City of Cayce since 2010, marking a major investment in public safety infrastructure.

Residents, local leaders, and public safety personnel gathered for the event, which celebrated both the department’s past traditions and its readiness for the future.
