Gray Collegiate, Airport ranked in preseason baseball poll

Oceanside Collegiate and Gray Collegiate Academy are scheduled to move up in classification next year.

This year, the two charter schools who played for the Class 2A title hold the two top spots in the preseason South Carolina Baseball Coaches Association Top 10 poll.

The Landsharks are the defending state champions, while the War Eagles have finished state runner-up two years in a row. They are scheduled to compete in Class 4A starting next year.

Other local teams ranked are Airport in Class 4A and Gilbert in Class 3A.
