Spend a weekend with friends rocking out to 70s/80s music and enjoying the largest selection of South Carolina craft beers in downtown Newberry.
Groove ‘n Brew is a free street festival featuring an outdoor stage with live music all day April 6 from 1 pm to 10 pm on Main Street in Downtown Newberry.
Festival-goers are encouraged to dress in 70s/80s costume to participate in karaoke and costume contests with prizes to be awarded to winners. A selection of South Carolina craft beer will be available and many South Carolina breweries will attend. Food trucks, vendors, and classic cars will be on hand. Large inflatable games for adults, including Wrecking Ball, Twister, and Jumporee Bungee Jumping, will be available.
Headlining inside the Ritz Theater, the Eagles tribute band, On The Border, will take the stage at 7:30 pm. 70s/80s Funk band, J-E-T, will open at 5:30 pm inside the Ritz Theater. Tickets for the show inside the Ritz are $30 and are available for purchase at the Newberry Opera House and on www.NewberryGrooveNBrew.com. Be sure to buy early as concert seating is very limited inside the Ritz Theatre.
Groove ‘n Brew is intended as a fundraiser for the Newberry Downtown Development Association (NDDA) to pursue economic development initiatives, such as strengthening the small business community through education, networking and promotion, development of upstairs spaces to increase foot traffic downtown, and advocating for change with City and County Leadership.
The street festival and outdoor entertainment at Groove ‘n Brew is free. A cover charge of $5 includes an over-21 wristband (pending an ID check) and a commemorative festival cup (while supplies last). Beer may only be served in the designated festival cup.
