The Lake Murray Polar Plunge will be Saturday, February 9 at the Lake Murray Recreation Area on the Lexington side of the Lake Murray Dam.
The entrance to the recreation area is located at the intersection of SC Highway 6 and Corley Mill Road. The event is open to the public and potential plungers can register the day of the event.
Registration begins at 10 am, costume contest, 11 am and the plunge will take place at noon. Plungers are asked to raise a minimum of $50 in donations which will include an event T-shirt and refreshments.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics (SCLETR) conducts year-round fundraising and public awareness events in support of Special Olympics South Carolina. Officers involved in the SCLETR serve as guardians of the “Flame of Hope” and dedicate themselves to the purpose of supporting Special Olympics athletes in South Carolina.
