Lastinger, Duncan Advance to Runoff in House District 88 Race

LEXINGTON, S.C. — Pastor John Lastinger will face Brian Duncan in a runoff election for South Carolina House District 88 after earning the most votes in last week’s special election.

The runoff will take place Tuesday, November 4, with early voting available October 29–31 at the Lexington County Voter Registration and Elections Office, located at 605 W. Main Street in Lexington.

Lastinger, who has served as a pastor for 47 years, said he was grateful for the support shown by voters in the district.

“This campaign has always been about faith, community, and the people — not politics or power,” Lastinger said. “While I’m humbled to have received the most votes, we know the job isn’t finished. What truly matters is finishing strong in the runoff, and with your help, we can do it together.”

A lifelong resident of District 88, Lastinger has been married to his wife, Robbie, for 50 years. His family has deep roots in Lexington County, where his sons work in agriculture and his six grandchildren are being raised.

Lastinger’s campaign has emphasized priorities including infrastructure improvements, fiscal accountability, support for seniors and families, and advocacy for local first responders and military personnel.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on election day. For more information, visit the Lexington County Voter Registration and Elections website or call 803-785-8361.
