Leadership program graduates class

Guest speaker Representative Micah Caskey, District 89, was introduced by Greater Cayce West Columbia Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Tim James.

On Wednesday, March 15 business professionals who enrolled in an eight-week leadership program hosted by the Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber of Commerce graduated during a ceremony held at The Mailroom on State Street in Cayce. The guest speaker for the graduation was the Honorable Representative Micah Caskey, as well the Chamber Chair, Lindsey Miles of Nephron Pharmaceuticals. Twelve of the fifteen enrollees earned the title of Perfect Attendance.

The eight-week leadership program involved 15 local business professionals who dedicated their time to educate themselves on our community and gain vital leadership skills. The program had eight leaders in various disciplines, teaching eight topics ranging from cyber security to maximizing social media effectiveness. “The CWC Business Leadership Development Program was designed to provide business owners a set of guidelines and tools for success in today’s marketplace,” said Tim James, CEO/President of the Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber of Commerce. “The program offered information on critical areas that need to be addressed in order for a business to build a successful foundation and to maintain that success.”

The leadership classes were held at various locations throughout the greater Cayce-West Columbia area, so that the students could become familiar with businesses and governments in the area. Locations included the City Of West Columbia, Phillips Market Center at the State Farmers Market and local businesses that hosted the course.

One of the graduates commented on the program. his was a rewarding experience,” said Nathan Ruth, Assistant Vice President at First Reliance Bank. “It certainly is a community builder and beneficial to all in the long run.”
