Detectives make arrest in overnight homicide (Page 220)

Chief Terrence Green is notifying the Town of Lexington community that an arrest was made in the overnight shooting death of a teenage male that happened at the Town & Country Apartments.

At approximately 10:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to a shooting at 301 Roberts Street. When officers arrived, they found a deceased 15-year-old victim who had been shot in the upper body laying outside near the parking lot.

Lavon Bernard Julius, age 42 of Columbia, was arrested and charged with Murder, Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. He is currently being held at the Lexington County Detention Center.

The Lexington Police Department, State Law Enforcement Division (SLED), and the Lexington County Coroner's Office are investigating this case and more information will be released when it becomes available.
