Coronavirus Resources
As we continue to reopen our country, it is important to stay healthy and safe. Please continue following Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines to help keep you, your family, and your friends protected against this disease. If you or your family have concerns about the coronavirus, please visit the CDC’s website or call 1-800-CDC-INFO.
There are also numerous resources from the South Carolina and Federal government to help. You can find a list of these resources on my website. This list is updated daily to ensure you and your family have what you need to stay safe and healthy.
National Adoption Day
As we mark National Adoption Day today, I remember how grateful to be the father of four sons, including one who chose to call me “Dad” and share his life with me. I know firsthand the rewards and challenges adoptive parents face and feel so blessed to be an adoptive dad
NDAA Conference Committee Nomination
I am thankful to serve another year on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) Conference Committee for the fiscal year 2021. As a veteran, the father of four sons who have served in the military overseas, and Senior Member of the House Armed Services Committee, I am wholly committed to supporting our service members, veterans, and military families.
Last year’s committee efforts were successful, and I will continue to promote peace through strength and work to champion legislation that benefits South Carolina. I look forward to working with the entire conference committee to advance this bipartisan legislation.
Operation Warp Speed
With our country still under attack by the coronavirus, President Trump announced Operation Warp Speed, America’s common-sense path forward, in a historic effort, to safely bring virus testing, treatments, and vaccines to the American people in record time.
Just this week, Moderna announced vaccine success and vaccine production is underway. This is great news for our families and the restoration of jobs, and I am grateful that we are closer to defeating the pandemic.
Congratulations to Former South Carolina Governor Beasley
It was great running into Former South Carolina Governor David Beasley this week. David serves as Executive Director of the World Food Programme, which recently received the Nobel Peace Prize. I was grateful for the chance to congratulate him in person.
