Cayce Councilman Phil Carter has been selected as the City’s new Mayor Pro Tem. A lifelong resident of Cayce, Carter previously served eight years as a trustee on the Lexington School District Two Board.
In addition to his work as a realtor with ERA Wilder’s Lexington office, Carter remains closely involved with Airport High School, where he graduated and later served as President of the “Eagle” Club and the School Improvement Council. He was inducted into the Airport High School Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame in 2013.
Married for 37 years, Carter and his wife have two sons, Jeremy and Bret. As a councilman, he says his priorities include improving neighborhood conditions, addressing aging infrastructure, and supporting Cayce’s growth as a community for seniors, students, young families, and job seekers.
