The United Way of the Midlands is now accepting applications for its Blueprint for Leadership program, with a deadline of January 21.
This unique eight-week leadership and board development training is specifically designed to prepare participants for impactful roles in the nonprofit sector. As the Midlands’ only professional development course with a dedicated focus on nonprofit leadership, Blueprint for Leadership aims to create skilled and passionate board members who can drive meaningful change.
“We’re excited about the 2025 Blueprint for Leadership cohort,” said Elliott Epps, United Way’s Director of Leadership and Capacity Building. “This program is more than just professional development; it’s about sparking a passion for service and equipping individuals with the diverse talents needed to shape our community’s future.”
The program features a progressive curriculum combining classroom learning with hands-on activities. Topics include nonprofit law, board member responsibilities, strategic leadership, and governance best practices. Classes begin in February 2025, conclude in May, and culminate with a graduation ceremony in June.
Businesses are encouraged to sponsor emerging leaders from their teams. The sponsorship fee is $900 for corporate participants and $450 for those from public sector or nonprofit organizations.
Spaces are limited, and applications must be submitted by January 21.
