Celebrate Freedom Foundation Students Soar to New Heights with Lockheed Martin F-16 Flight Simulation Experience

Students from the Celebrate Freedom Foundation (CFF) recently took flight, not in the skies, but in the Lockheed Martin F-16 flight simulation project. Hosted at the South Carolina Statehouse, this hands-on experience marked a historic collaboration between the education and aerospace industries, giving students an exclusive opportunity to engage with cutting-edge technology.

Lockheed Martin, a global aerospace industry leader and the sole manufacturer of the F-16 fighter jet, opened its doors to these young aviators for a first-of-its-kind event. The flight simulation project provided students with a realistic and immersive experience of flying the renowned F-16, igniting their passion for aviation and aerospace technology.

Celebrate Freedom Foundation (CFF), a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, has been dedicated to advancing education and preserving aviation history. The foundation’s mission, to honor past aviation pioneers and inspire future space and aviation pioneers, came to life during this groundbreaking event. The focus on STEM education, with an outreach program directed towards K-12 students, aligns perfectly with the growing need for a STEM-literate workforce in South Carolina’s burgeoning aerospace and automotive manufacturing sector.

South Carolina’s transformation into a hub for global aerospace and automotive manufacturing has heightened the demand for a STEM-literate workforce. Celebrate Freedom Foundation recognizes this need and actively contributes to preparing students for the competitive national and global workforce through its STEM Education Outreach Program.
