Charlotte Denise Newsome Turnage, 68, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2019. Born in Chattanooga Tennessee, she was the eldest daughter of the late William Frank Newsome Sr. and Doris Law Newsome of Greenville. Mrs. Turnage found great joy in her husband, Scott Turnage and son, Stephen Hixson. Mrs. Turnage was born October 6, 1950. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at Francis Marion University where she graduated Magnum cum laude. Additionally she obtained a Masters in Economics at Clemson University and was an Economics Professor at Midlands Technical College in Columbia until retirement. She was an avid reader of political works.
Survived by husband Scott Turnage from Cayce; son Stephen Hixson from Piney Flats, Tennessee; William Frank Newsome Jr. (or Bill) from Lees Summit, Missouri; sister Terri Newsome Pruitt from Mt Pleasant. A Celebration of Life service in Cayce was attended by family only.
