The winning ways of undefeated Northside Christian Academy continued this past Friday.
Facing SCISA newcomer Spartanburg Day, the Crusaders rolled to a 62-10 win to improve to a school-record 4-0 on the season.
It was another big game on the ground for senior B.J. Suits. He had eight carries for 152 yards and three touchdowns to increase his total to 15 on the season.
Jay Weston also rushed for two scores and Gunner Freeman returned an interception 36 yards for a touchdown.
The Crusaders play host to another Upstate SCISA opponent Spartanburg Christian Academy on Friday.
River Bluff wins
After getting shut out at home against Gray Collegiate, the Gators rebounded with a vengeance at Harry Parone Stadium.
In routing Spring Valley 45-7, River Bluff (2-1) posted 351 total yards. The 225 rushing yards surpassed the Vikings’ 146 total yards for the entire game.
Quarterback Brayden Moore was 6-10 passing for 118 yards and three touchdowns. Darius Carter, who had 115 yards on two kickoff returns, Ashton Boyd and Kingston Dunn each had a scoring reception.
Collin Carter led the Gators with 10 tackles. Linebacker Bubba Alexander had nine tackles, an interception and a 6-yard touchdown run.
Gray Collegiate falls at home
The War Eagles looked to carry over their winning momentum from last week in another non-region matchup.
This time, it faced a James Island team which has posted wins against ranked teams Oceanside Collegiate Academy and South Florence.
Gray Collegiate fell behind 7-0 before Trevon Williamson tied the game with an 80-yard touchdown reception. Down 21-7 in the second quarter, Royce Williamson returned a punt 77 yards for a score.
The Trojans proceeded to score 28 unanswered points before the War Eagles added a late touchdown run to lose 49-20. Gray Collegiate committed four turnovers and allowed 599 total yards.
