Dance Theatre of Columbia Presents Red Riding Hood to Aid Local Homelessness Charity

COLUMBIA – Dance Theatre of Columbia (DTC) invites the community to experience its enchanting performance of Red Riding Hood, a dance production aimed at raising funds for Homeless No More, a nonprofit organization dedicated to eradicating family homelessness in the Midlands.

DTC, a nonprofit children’s dance company based in Northeast Columbia, has been inspiring audiences and giving back to the community since its founding in 1992. The group, led by Artistic Director Cari Kirkland, produces annual performances to benefit a chosen charity.

“I think what makes our production so special is that we give back so much,” Kirkland said. “Since we are philanthropic, we are dancing for a good cause and coming together as a group to support our community.”

About the Production
Red Riding Hood is a whimsical dance adaptation of Charles Perrault’s Mother Goose Tales. The story follows Red’s journey from a lively village fair through an enchanting forest to her Granny’s house — but danger lurks as a wolf is on the prowl! The production showcases 60 dancers, ages 6 and up, performing in various styles, including ballet, tap, lyrical, and theatrical dance.
