Touting her small business leadership and background in community service, Entrepreneur Melissa Sprouse Browne filed to run for Mayor of West Columbia in the election on November 7th of this year.
“I’ve been involved in so many things and I’ve worked with others to accomplish a lot,” said Sprouse Browne, “I am well-equipped to serve as our city’s next mayor and I am looking forward to the challenge.”
Sprouse Browne has founded several successful small businesses including co-founding The Marketing Division, Seniors First Home Care and Cora Cora. She also manages The Real Estate School of South Carolina and South Carolina Realty.
“Founding and operating small businesses takes day-to-day hard work. That is the kind of mayor I will be. I’ll be working on getting things done every day for the citizens of West Columbia.”
Sprouse Browne formerly served as the Chairman of the West Columbia Beautification Foundation, a position she believes will be an asset in her plans for the city:
“My time on the Beautification Foundation really helped me gather vital experience that can help drive economic development.
Sprouse Browne, who is active in the Republican Party, is putting freedom in the forefront:
“We cannot have the freedoms of our citizens be encroached upon. As many places are returning to COVID-era restrictions, that will not happen again if I am given the honor of being mayor. Our citizens can make their own, well-informed decisions so we can keep our community going and protect our freedoms.”
