2 Timothy 2:15
Do you ever stop long enough to review in your mind what significant events happened in your life during the last six months? These few words written about two thousand years ago could help us review. Have I done anything to anyone that makes me feel ashamed? Would you read these words thoughtfully?
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15
To what do we give our best efforts? Do we do our best to make our marriage as great as it can be? How about our employment? What about the effort we put into our community relationships? Can our neighbors complement us as neighbors?
Perhaps an even greater question is “What are we doing to present ourselves to God in the very best possible way?” We begin by trusting in Jesus Christ, His Son, so that we can gain entrance to the Father. We can not enter into the presence of God without having our sins forgiven. Jesus Christ is the one and only answer to our sin problem.
Once we are assured that we are okay with God, the next step of not being ashamed it to be open to all with whom we have influence regarding our faith in Jesus Christ. Supposing that a family member or a friend were to die today, are you convinced that you will see that one again in heaven? Can you distribute gospel literature? Can you invite someone to a good church family to hear of Christ? Can you tell that one clearly and effectively what they need to become sure that upon death we rise to be with Christ in heaven?
Happy being unashamed.
