Lexington County Crews Work to Clear Roads After Hurricane Helene

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and Public Works crews are continuing their efforts to clear road obstructions following the impact of Hurricane Helene. As of noon on Saturday, 410 obstructed roads had been reported, with workers clearing 240 and 170 roads still in need of attention.

In a social media update, the sheriff’s department urged drivers to be cautious and follow these instructions:

  • If you encounter a barricade while driving, turn around and find an alternate route.
  • Call 911 only for emergencies. Downed power lines, outages, or other electrical concerns should be reported directly to your electric utility.

Crews are working diligently to restore normal traffic flow throughout the county.
