The South Carolina School Boards Association recognized three Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees members during the association’s 2019–2020 Boardmanship Institute. The association honored Mike Anderson, Anne Marie Green and Tim Oswald for their accomplishments.
The institute offers a year-round training curriculum which helps board members develop skills and stay up to date on state and national education issues. Each year, about 80 percent of board members statewide attend at least one training session.
Workshops focus on school law, advocacy and legislation, improving board operations, leadership for improving student achievement, and more.
Board members can achieve up to six levels of recognition by participating in conferences and training.
- Anderson and Green reached level four, and received a certificate and a pin with a blue stone.
- Oswald reached level two, and received a certificate and a silver pin.
