LEXINGTON, S.C. – Lexington County deputies arrested a Leesville man, Daniel Gene Crapps, 28, on Friday morning, charging him with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to arrest warrants.
“This situation started Thursday evening at a home on Reedy O. Smith Road in Leesville,” stated Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon. “Based on information deputies gathered at the scene and during interviews, Crapps pushed a household member to the floor and eventually pointed a pistol at the person and threatened to kill them.”
Crapps also assaulted the person with the pistol, according to Koon. “Crapps left the scene before deputies arrived, and we looked for him throughout the evening, last night, and this morning,” Koon added. “Our investigation led us to a Leesville home, where we took him into custody.”
Crapps was transported to the Lexington County Detention Center, where he will be held while awaiting a bond hearing. More charges against Crapps are expected, according to Koon.
