River Bluff’s DECA Chapter Continues Record-Breaking Success at International Career Development Conference
Orlando, FL – River Bluff’s DECA Chapter is thrilled to announce its outstanding achievements at the DECA International Career Development Conference held in Orlando this past week. 60 students from the chapter traveled to Orlando to compete in Individual Series, Team Decision Making, Principles (1st-year competitors only), Written, and Presentation-based events. The hard work and dedication of our students paid off, as 23 of them earned International recognition, including a school record of 17 Top 20 finalists. Top 20 in the world!
Our students competed against the best of the best from around the world and showcased their skills and talents on a global stage. Twenty Medalist Awards were given to 17 students for Top Case Study and Top Test in the initial grouping of competitors who took a 100-question Career Cluster Exam and competed in 1-2 Case Studies. These students were the best in their respective cohort of 20 of the world’s best.
While the wins are impressive, the River Bluff’s DECA Chapter is equally proud of the culture they have built. Throughout the six-day event, our students demonstrated exceptional character and resilience, both in the best and most challenging moments. They learned important life lessons with context and perspective that will serve them well beyond the competition.
Although we fell short of bringing home Top 3 DECA Glass this year, the collective wins, community-building, and commitment to keep honing our craft to work harder and smarter is an indicators of even better things to come next year. The River Bluff’s DECA Chapter is already looking forward to the next opportunity to compete and continue building its legacy of excellence.

River Bluff’s DECA Chapter Celebrates Record-Breaking Success at State Career Development Conference
Charleston, SC – River Bluff’s DECA Chapter is proud to announce its outstanding achievements at the DECA State Career Development Conference held in Charleston last February. 89 students from the chapter participated in 32 events, and we are thrilled to report that 84 of them finished in the top 10, with 70 finishing in the top 5.
But the success didn’t stop there. A record-breaking 56 students qualified for the Internationals in Orlando in April by placing in the top three. Of those 56, 8 finished in 3rd, 16 finished in 2nd, and an incredible 32 finished in 1st place. These achievements are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, who truly embody the River Bluff’s DECA Chapter motto, “You get out what you put in.”
Our students have worked tirelessly to build a culture of shared leadership, mentoring, and community building. Our students’ accomplishments are a testament to the power of a supportive community that works together to achieve shared goals.
