Coronavirus Resources

Our country is still working to recover from the pandemic and it is important to stay healthy and safe. Please continue following Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines to help keep you, your family, and your friends protected against this disease. If you or your family have concerns about the coronavirus, please visit the CDC’s website or call 1-800-CDC-INFO.

There are also numerous resources from the South Carolina and Federal government to help. You can find a list of testing and vaccine resources on my website, here. This page is updated daily to ensure you and your family have what you need to stay safe and healthy.

Biden Decision to Withdraw Troops from Afghanistan

President Biden’s decision to withdraw troops from Afghanistan without ensuring the Taliban live up to their commitments is misguided and disturbing. The Biden administration owes Congress its plan to maintain a counterterrorism force in Afghanistan to protect our vital national interests, which include ensuring it never becomes a safe-haven for al Qaeda and murderous ISIS terrorists. The best way to protect American families is to defeat terrorists overseas, the survival of our civilization depends on our proactive resistance in the Global War on Terrorism. We must never forget that the murderous attacks of 9/11 were coordinated from a cave in Afghanistan. I joined Tony Perkins to discuss this issue, watch here.

The National Guard Youth Foundation

It was great to meet with leaders of the National Guard Youth Foundation (NGYF) this week to express my thanks for the great work they do for the young people of South Carolina.
The South Carolina Youth ChalleNGe Academy has been instrumental in the lives of nearly 3,000 young men and women by providing them direction and structure. I’m grateful to support their efforts this Congress and want to congratulate Ms. Lakena Gamble, Ms. Latoya Reed, and MG Van McCarty for their dedication to our community.

Opposing Vaccine Passports

Last week, I joined my Republican South Carolina colleagues in sending a letter led by my friend, Congressman Jeff Duncan to Governor Henry McMaster, reiterating our opposition to the use of “vaccine passports.”
Vaccine passports are not only a threat to personal liberty but also medical privacy. I am committed to working with my colleagues in Congress and Governor McMaster in blocking any potential implementation of such a mandate. Read more here.

Month of the Military Child

April is the Month of the Military Child. As a veteran and father of four sons who have served in the military overseas, military service runs deep in our family. Let us especially honor all military children for their service and sacrifice this month.
