Speed and Beauty come to Historic Columbia Speedway this weekend

Get ready for an exhilarating showcase of speed and beauty at the historic Columbia Speedway this weekend! The Three Rivers Region of the Porsche Club of America is proud to present the Speed and Beauty Concours d’Elegance car show on Sunday, April 28, from noon to 4 pm.

This event promises something for everyone, with a wide range of activities to enjoy. Melissa Sprouse Browne, president of the Three Rivers Region, expressed her excitement about hosting this spectacular event at the largest venue ever. The tradition, started by original member Rock Webb 39 years ago, continues with the aim of supporting Camp Kemo, a program offered through Prisma Health for children battling cancer.

Car enthusiasts can register to exhibit their vehicles at www.threeriversregionpca.org or on eventbrite.com by searching Speed and Beauty. All types of cars are welcome for a registration fee of $30. Spectators will have the pleasure of viewing fine examples of cars from renowned brands like Porsche, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Chevrolet, Ford, and more. Exotics, muscle cars, classics, and racers will be on display.

Visitors can vote for their favorite cars to determine the winner of the People’s Choice award. The event will feature a food truck rodeo, a beer garden, and a gaming rig for onsite SIM racing with competitive sessions of Gran Turismo. Fastest lap awards will be presented, and local dealerships including McDaniels Porsche, McDaniels Acura, BMW of Columbia, Dick Dyer Mercedes Benz, and Steve Padgett’s Honda of Lake Murray will showcase their displays. Additionally, various vendors will have booths onsite.

A special tribute to first responders will feature vehicles from the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, the West Columbia Police Department, and the Cayce Public Safety Department. For added excitement, a Zumba dance party led by instructor Zumba Eddie (Eddie Sharon) will take place every hour.

Parking for the event is $5 per car, and donations for Camp Kemo will be accepted throughout the day. Doors open to the public at noon.

The Three Rivers Region is a part of the Porsche Club of America, the largest single marque car club globally, serving the central portion of South Carolina. Memberships are available for Porsche owners or enthusiasts, including a special membership class for juniors. F
