The City of Cayce is not under investigation regarding taxpayer funds.
Upon receiving a complaint concerning the conduct of a member of Cayce City Council, city council took immediate action by calling a Special Meeting for October 13, 2025. During the meeting, the City Attorney confirmed that the meeting was legally and properly called, and that the agenda item was both lawful and appropriate for Council consideration.
At the conclusion of the meeting, City Council voted unanimously to retain an independent, third-party attorney to conduct a thorough investigation into the complaint. This proactive step reflects Council’s commitment to ensuring transparency, accountability, and due process in all matters of governance.
The findings of the investigation will be presented at the October 27, 2025 Council Meeting. The City of Cayce remains steadfast in its dedication to ethical leadership, responsible stewardship of public resources, and maintaining the confidence and trust of our community.
