IRMO, S.C. — The 51st annual Irmo Okra Strut will return to Moore Park Sept. 25-26, bringing two days of music, entertainment, food and family activities to the community.
The event’s opening ceremonies will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at the Prisma Health Amphitheater, located at 7473 Church St. in Irmo.
Okra Strut Parade
The Lexington Health Irmo Okra Strut Parade will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at CrossRoads Intermediate and travel down St. Andrews Road to Lake Murray Boulevard, ending near Irmo Elementary School.
St. Andrews Road will close to traffic at 8:45 a.m. Saturday. Parade attendees are encouraged to arrive early.
This year’s parade theme is “Once Upon a Strut!”, celebrating storytelling and fairy tales.

- 7 p.m. — Big Time Band

- Noon — SC Christian Dance Theater
- 12:30 p.m. — Freeway Music
- 3 p.m. — Kids’ Okra Eating Contest
- 4 p.m. — Elizabeth as Taylor
Friday night’s entertainment begins with the Big Time Band at 7 p.m. The band performs music spanning a variety of genres.
The Irmo Okra Strut is a longtime community tradition featuring live entertainment, contests, food and activities for all ages.
