The mood was festive, as if it were the first day to get outside and enjoy the spring weather on Saturday, March 22. Throngs came out for Soiree on State, Cayce’s signature event.
The music started at 3 p.m. with Prettier Than Matt, followed by Mitchell Lee and then at 6 p.m., Tokyo Joe took the stage. Greg Bickley, Tokyo Joe founder and lead singer sang his song Days on Sunnyside in which he chronicles a care-free growing up in Cayce on Sunnyside Drive, just blocks from where Saturday’s party took place.

Cayce Mayor Elise Partin was pleased with the turn out and she’s already looking forward to doing it again.
“It was so great to see everyone who came out and enjoyed all the great music, food and art,” said Partin. “That connection is the spirit of Cayce. Being with each other in the heart of our city. It was a treat to get to recognize all the small businesses and to enjoy such great music. Thanks to all the hard work of our staff and volunteers, it was such a wonderful day! We can’t wait to see everyone next year.”

Cayce City Council Members Phil Carter, Tim James, Hunter Sox and Byron Thomas also mingled with the crowd.
In addition to vendors setting up on State Street, Trini Lime Caribbean Café was open, as was Feathered Next and Dialed Bike Repair and Services. Students from Freeway Music performed in the Art Park, too.
