Gray Collegiate’s Own Belle Foster to Compete for Miss South Carolina’s Teen

Gray Collegiate Academy student, softball player and nationally recognized youth advocate Belle Foster is preparing to take the stage at the Township Auditorium in Columbia as she competes for the title of Miss South Carolina’s Teen June 13–20 as the inaugural Miss Gray Collegiate’s Teen.

Representing both the West Columbia and Irmo campuses of Gray Collegiate Academy, Foster says the opportunity is about much more than a crown — it is about creating meaningful impact and encouraging young people to understand the power of their voice.

Belle is the founder and host of The American Honey Show, a nationally recognized podcast platform created to encourage civic engagement, leadership, and meaningful conversations among young people. Through interviews with elected officials, athletes, entrepreneurs, entertainers, and national voices, she has worked to bridge the gap between teenagers and topics that directly affect their futures.

Recently, Foster was honored with a House Resolution at the South Carolina State House recognizing her work and leadership through The American Honey Show and her efforts to inspire civic awareness among youth across the country.

As part of the Miss South Carolina’s Teen competition within the Miss America Opportunity, Belle’s Community Service Initiative is titled Your Voice Matters, a platform that directly reflects the mission behind her podcast. Through this initiative, she is encouraging teens to become educated, engaged, and informed about the issues shaping their communities long before they turn 18.

“I believe one of the most important things we can teach young people is that their voice matters,” Foster said. “No matter what side of the aisle someone is on politically, educating future voters and helping young people understand the importance of civic engagement impacts every single American.”

Foster believes many young people have become disconnected from the political and civic process, and she hopes to help change that by making conversations approachable, respectful, and relevant to her generation.

“This is bigger than politics,” she explained. “It’s about understanding the importance of being informed, participating in your community, and realizing that decisions being made today affect all of us tomorrow — especially here in South Carolina.”

In addition to her growing national platform, Foster is also active within her school community and has been recognized for both academic and leadership excellence. She continues to use her influence to encourage other young people to step confidently into leadership roles while remaining grounded in faith, service, and purpose.

As the inaugural Miss Gray Collegiate’s Teen, Belle says she is honored to represent Gray Collegiate Academy, its students, and both campuses on the Miss South Carolina stage this June.
