Lake Murray Hosts NPFL’s 2024 Season Finale

The National Professional Fishing League (NPFL) will conclude its 2024 season at Lake Murray from December 11-13, promising an electrifying showdown at one of South Carolina’s premier fishing destinations. The event, hosted by the Capital City/Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism Board (CCLMC), will feature daily launches and weigh-ins at Dreher Island State Park, with fans encouraged to attend and experience the action live.

Why Lake Murray?

Dubbed the “Jewel of South Carolina,” Lake Murray’s clear waters, diverse structures, and healthy largemouth bass population make it an angler’s paradise. The NPFL has a history of thrilling competitions in South Carolina, including notable victories at Lake Hartwell and Santee Cooper. This winter tournament will challenge anglers with Lake Murray’s unpredictable conditions, where cold fronts can impact fish behavior dramatically.

Local fishing veterans Joey Sabbaga and Dustin Williamson predict exciting competition, with fish likely holding anywhere from 2 to 50 feet deep. “The lake has been fishing exceptionally well,” said Sabbaga. “Anglers will have options to fish shallow or deep, making for an unpredictable and thrilling event.”
