Lexington Two’s archers are making their mark this season, with competitors qualifying for state and national tournaments.
Among recent honors:
Brookland Cayce High School had nine archers qualify to compete in the SC National Archery in Schools State Tournament, sponsored by the SC Department of Natural Resources.
The invited archers participated in bullseye and IBO/3-D events. Bullseye archers included Senior Academic Archers: Sahrish Ahmad, Leslie Alarcon-Garcia, Jackson Allen, Alana Cramer, Ella Everett, Edison Lin, and Josue Soriana Cruz as well as underclassmen Ayden Whitney and Elizabeth Pittman. Jackson Allen, Leslie Alarcon-Garcia, Elizabeth Pittman and Ayden Whitney also participated in the IBO/3-D event. Senior Academic Archer Jackson Allen qualified for Nationals in IBO/3-D, finishing in ninth position while sophomore Academic Archer Elizabeth Pittman, qualified for Nationals in the bullseye division with her eighth-place finish.
Cyril B Busbee Creative Arts Academy’s IBO/3-D team qualified to compete March 30 in the SC National Archery in Schools State Tournament. The IBO/3-D team consists of sixth-grader Kaylee Walker, seventh-graders Zeke Baddourah, Dylan Bridges, Wesley Daniels, Christian Davis, Preston Lord, Colton Jenninegs, Jaiya Johns, Sarah Pittman, Charlotte Wojcik and eighth-graders Jesse Everett, Hannah Flennekin, Preston Hamlet and Timia Riley. Additionally, seventh-grader Zeke Baddourah qualified to compete in the bullseye event.
The IBO/3-D team finished seventh in the state tournament, qualifying them to participate in the U.S. Eastern National IBO/3-D Challenge tournament May 11-13 in Louisville, Kentucky. Zeke Baddourah finished 8th in bullseye. This top 10 finish at the state event qualifies him to participate in the U.S. Eastern National Bullseye Event the same weekend.
