Get ready for a weekend of festive fun as the community comes together for the annual Parade Day and Holiday Parade of Lights, presented by Lexington Medical Center. This event promises something for everyone, with opportunities to shop, dine, and celebrate the holiday spirit across Cayce and West Columbia.
Friday, December 13
Kick off the weekend with a family-friendly movie night under the stars at Brookland-Cayce High School’s football field. Two holiday classics will be shown starting at sunset. Admission is free, so bring your blankets and chairs for a cozy evening.
Saturday, December 14
From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., visit the North Pole – otherwise known as the CWC Chamber office at 1006 12th Street. Families can enjoy live music, children’s activities, and plenty of holiday cheer.
Throughout the day, take advantage of the Holiday Parade Day Shuttle, which offers convenient “hop on, hop off” stops around Cayce and West Columbia, giving you the chance to explore local shops and eateries.
5:30 p.m.: Holiday Parade of Lights
The highlight of the celebration is the Holiday Parade of Lights, where over 24,000 attendees gathered last year to witness a dazzling spectacle. This year’s parade promises even more excitement, with floats, cars, and other vehicles adorned with thousands of twinkling lights.
Debbie Summers, longtime Lexington County Council member, will serve as this year’s Grand Marshal. Summers, who recently announced her retirement after two decades of service, will lead the parade in honor of her contributions to the community.
Make plans to attend and experience the magic of the season! For more information, contact the CWC Chamber or visit their website.
