Special Olympics holding virtual event

For the first time, Special Olympics South Carolina will not be able to hold any of their in-person gala events. In a typical year there are three – Special Night for Special Olympics in Charleston, Give to Gain Gala in Columbia and the Greenville Gala in Greenville.

The 2020 Special Olympics South Carolina will kick off Thursday, November 19 at 8 pm with a special video on YouTube. Special Olympics South Carolina board member, Deena Dill, hosts the video presentation featuring sponsors and several featured items. The virtual event includes appearances from Special Olympics South Carolina president and CEO, Mr. Barry Coats and local athletes.

It is free for anyone to register and start bidding on more than 100 items that feature businesses across the state. The online auction will be open November 19 through November 24.
