America is once again engaged in a national debate over congressional redistricting. While redistricting has always been a constitutional responsibility carried out by the states, recent years have seen increasingly aggressive partisan efforts designed to reshape congressional maps for political advantage.

These efforts accelerated after the launch of Democrat-backed national redistricting organizations under former Obama administration Attorney General Eric Holder and focused not on strengthening public confidence, but on gaining liberal leverage in Congress and advancing a political agenda centered on opposing President Donald Trump.

For nearly a decade, Americans have watched endless impeachment politics consume Washington. Instead of focusing on lowering costs, strengthening jobs, securing our border, and confronting growing threats from Communist China, Democrats have repeatedly chosen division and partisan warfare.

The American people are tired of it.

President Trump was elected to restore common sense, economic strength, and strong leadership on the world stage. Republicans at every level should work together to support policies that reinforce that agenda and provide stability for the future of our country.

That includes supporting President Trump’s redistricting efforts designed to restore balance.

The Supreme Court correctly asserted in the Callais v. Landry decision to restore the rule of law and constitutional order in American elections. By reinforcing constitutional limits and reaffirming that states retain the authority to draw lawful maps that reflect their communities and state interests, the Court’s ruling curbs politically motivated overreach that has undermined public confidence in the electoral process.

Redistricting should ensure fair representation for voters while also reflecting the political realities and priorities of the citizens of South Carolina. Republicans should not unilaterally surrender while Democrats aggressively pursue political advantage across the country.
South Carolina has long stood for conservative principles, limited government, strong national defense, and economic opportunity. Our state has benefited from Republican leadership that understands the importance of creating jobs, protecting freedom, and maintaining peace through strength abroad.

At a time of international instability and domestic uncertainty, Republicans should remain united and focused on the issues that matter most to working families and taxpayers.
That means supporting policies that strengthen our economy, secure our elections, defend constitutional government, and stop endless impeachment politics once and for all.
