Wilson, Moylan Issue Joint Statement on Trajectory of Chinese Spy Balloon

Washington, D.C. – Congressmen Joe Wilson (R-SC) and James Moylan (R-Guam), both members of the House Armed Services Committee, issued a joint statement calling on the Biden administration to reveal the truth to the American people about the trajectory of the spy balloon recently launched by the Chinese Communist Party toward Guam, and destroyed over South Carolina.

“It is shocking to learn from The Washington Post (February 15) that U.S. monitors tracked the Chinese Communist Party spy balloon from its Hainan Island origin in China, over Guam, then across America until its ultimate destruction by a U.S. fighter jet off the coast of South Carolina.

“The Biden administration has misled American families regarding the path of the spy balloon, the significance of targets, the disclosure of its origin, and many significant facts.

“The course has been concealed and absurdly categorized as classified. This information is important to our home communities throughout the 19 villages on Guam, inclusive of both Naval Base Guam and Andersen Air Force Base, to Fort Jackson and the Savannah River Site in South Carolina.

“Our constituents are sadly at risk and American families deserve accurate information. Every effort should be made to capture such objects for verification of source and capability.”
