Hattie’s View: Can we change the ending?

By Ellen Coffey

How can we change the end if we don’t understand the beginning? I’m referencing last weeks column about the idea that every soul has a life book; a supernatural record of events from conception ‘till death.

Aside from sports, local , recognitions, photos and sponsors, there’s still a variety of Information about life and health in this community newspaper.

Last week there was a column explaining the benefits of Meditation, another on How to relieve stress, and a well written humorous column on retro dialects.

The weekly circulation for our community paper is 10,000.

My story: Many readers reached out to me (without going through our Editors) Whew, asking  more questions about the reality of the books. If you believe the scriptures, it’s not open to interpretation. It’s clear in Revelations, the books exist.

So, if our life is recording a book, can we change the ending?

This one example  from Old Testament Scripture 2nd Kings chapter 20 (KJV) may provide the answer.
Hezikiah, crowned King of Judah (south east) at the age of 25, was a praying King, living in the days of prophets, priests and kings. He was suffering from an incurable illness. He had first consulted the priest, Aziriah, about his disease (priests relayed the prayers to God for the people).

Then Isaiah, the prophet comes on the scene immediately with the answer, telling Hezekiah to get his house in order, because “you shall not recover, you shall Surely die”.

So, while on his death bed, he turned his face to the wall and tearfully begged for an extension. He even  reminded God how he restored true worship, reigned in truth, with a perfect heart and had done extraordinary things in God’s name.

The prophet Isaiah had barely left the Kings bedside when, before he crossed the courtyard, the Lord sent him right back to the King’s  bed side with this message:

“God has seen your tears and heard your prayers. He will heal you and after 3 days will add to
your life15 years” (he reigned a total of 29 years) this is just one story.

But it’s enough information for us to believe that we can change the end. Fast forward. More so because today we can pray for ourselves among ourselves and we have the scriptures and Holy Spirit to reveal what we should do.

So, are the books like videos capturing our tone and  facial expressions?

I’ve noticed several TV networks and ministers, warning our actions are being recorded, including Franklin Graham, speaking of President Trumps Easter message on prayer, and depending on the Holy Spirit to guide our leaders.

What did King Hekiziah do with the 15 added years? Hmmm?

Looks like we can change the end and outcome, Y’all.
