Flock and Rally, the women-owned and led integrated communications and marketing agency based in Columbia, recently earned two Silver Wing Awards from the S.C. Public Relations Society of America (SCPRSA) as well as five 2022 Palmetto Awards presented by the International Association of Business Communicators’ South Carolina chapter (IABC/SC).
“Our team is dedicated to creating meaningful and excellent campaigns and assets for our clients,” says Merritt McNeely, CEO at Flock and Rally. “We are grateful to be recognized by SCPRSA and IABC/SC for our work with clients that make a significant impact on our community.”
SCPRSA Mercury Awards
At the SCPRSA Mercury Awards, Flock and Rally was honored with a Silver Wing Award of Excellence for its media relations campaign launching the products of Peak Drift Brewing Company, while building awareness and cultivating relationships with local and regional media. Flock and Rally planned and implemented a phased media relations campaign, which included developing foundational tools, media hard hat tours, ongoing media relations throughout construction, and a product launch announcement campaign.
A Silver Wing Award of Excellence was earned for the agency’s “Pursue Your Purpose” SEM advertising campaign for the South Carolina Emergency Medical Services Association, focused on the critical shortage of EMS workers in South Carolina. Flock and Rally used search engine marketing, as well as paid social ads on Instagram and Facebook, to drive leads and raise general awareness of the shortage.
Mercury Awards recognize public relations programs and campaigns, and Silver Wing Awards recognize outstanding tactics used in public relations. The Public Relations Society of America is the world's largest organization for public relations professionals. Learn more about the South Carolina chapter at www.scprsa.org.
IABC Palmetto Awards
A Star of the Show Award and an Award of Excellence in Communication Research was awarded to Flock and Rally for the brand audit created for Still Hopes Episcopal Retirement Community. Flock and Rally conducted a brand communications audit, which evaluated overall visual brand representation, public relations, community outreach, advertising, collaterals, website and social media. After the audit, Flock and Rally created a report that highlighted opportunities per marketing and communications outreach channel. The recommendations from this report became the basis for Still Hopes’ 2022 marketing plan.
The agency was awarded an Award of Excellence in communication management for the “Live a Wild Life” campaign for the Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens. The fully integrated marketing campaign was developed to highlight the mission of Riverbanks Zoo and Garden to create meaningful connections and inspire actions that will have a lasting impact on conservation. The campaign, developed and executed by Flock and Rally on behalf of Riverbanks, included the creation of a new tagline, messaging and brand visuals, video production, digital ads, paid social media and print ads.
Flock and Rally was awarded a second Award of Excellence in media relations for the NAI Columbia land sales campaign. A media relations campaign of a father-son duo with more than 50 years of collective experience in the industry was crafted to share the untold story of what goes into building major land deals in the Midlands.
An Award of Excellence of government relations and public affairs was presented for the South Carolina Institute of Medicine and Public Health’s (IMPH) Opioid Settlement Report and Press Conference. Flock and Rally organized and executed a press conference for legislators, local government entities and statewide media to increase awareness of the 2022 opioid settlement and release its new report: South Carolina’s Guide to Approved Uses for Investing Opioid Settlement Funds. Flock and Rally worked directly with IMPH to identify key stakeholders, organize and execute a press conference, and produce a designed report that would be easily accessible to interested individuals and parties.
“We are committed to developing marketing campaigns and assets that are creative, innovative and drive meaningful action,” says McNeely. “Our team is excited to share these awards with our project partners and with the clients who enable us to create timely, high-impact work.”
