St. Pat’s in Five Points Returns for Columbia’s Premier Festival Extravaganza

Prepare for a day filled with festivities as St. Pat’s in Five Points, South Carolina’s largest one-day festival, makes its grand return this Saturday, March 16. The 42nd edition of this beloved event promises an exciting lineup of activities from 7:30 am to 7 pm, showcasing the vibrant spirit of Columbia.

The day kicks off with the adrenaline-pumping Get to the Green race at 7:30 am, followed by the iconic St. Pat’s Parade at 10 am. Live music performances, starting at 11 am, will keep the energy high throughout the day.

Heather McDonald, Executive Director of the Five Points Association, expresses enthusiasm, stating, “St. Pat’s in Five Points is a much-anticipated annual event for both Columbia locals and visitors. We’re excited to host a celebration that feels like home, yet constantly evolves to offer new experiences for our guests.”

New Highlights for 2024:

  • The Saint Alcohol-Free Mocktail Lounge: Presented in partnership with Cola Love, this lounge offers a curated selection of non-alcoholic beverages and rotating mocktail features from local establishments.
  • Paddy’s Mini-Ramp Jam: Presented by Bluetile, featuring a “learn to skate” beginner’s clinic, intermediate/advanced ramp jams, a best trick contest, and cash prizes.
  • Logan’s Irish Pub Pop-Up: Courtesy of Bushmills Irish Whiskey and Bushmills Black Bush Irish Whiskey, featuring O’Hara’s house band and traditional Irish foods.
  • Refillable Water Stations: Courtesy of 32 Dental, encouraging guests to bring reusable water bottles to refill at hydration stations.
  • Free Satellite Parking and Shuttle: Convenient parking at the South Carolina State Fair Grounds with complimentary shuttle service provided by The COMET.

  • 7:30 am: Get to the Green 5K, 10K, and 1-Mile Family Fun Run
  • 10 am: Festival Gates Open
  • 10 am: St. Pat’s Parade
  • 10 am-6 pm: Pot O’Gold Playland
  • 10 am-5:30 pm: Paddy’s Mini-Ramp Jam
  • 11 am-7 pm: Live Music Performances
  • 7 pm: Festival Ends

Music Lineup: This year’s festival boasts the largest music lineup ever, featuring over 40 local, regional, and national artists across multiple stages and venues.

Street Closures:

  • Friday, March 15:
    • 8 am – 2100 block of Greene Street.
    • 6 pm – 600 and 700 blocks of Harden Street.
  • Saturday, March 16:
    • 2 am – All other streets within Five Points.

Tickets:

  • General admission tickets are $30 in advance until midnight on March 15 and $35 online and at the gate on the day of the event.
  • Children 12 and under are admitted free with a parent/guardian who is 21+.
